(Charleston, IL) — 蜜桃影像 today was designated an Opportunity College and University by the . Carnegie’s Opportunity College and University is a prestigious designation reserved for less than 500 institutions of higher education serving as models for how campuses can foster student success. The recognition affirms and underscores 蜜桃影像’s commitment to serving its community and advancing student success through affordable access and strong post-graduation performance.
As a complementary part of the designation, Eastern was classified as a top member of Carnegie’s “Higher Access, Higher Earnings” category for preparing students and graduates to achieve median earnings significantly above their regional peers. That detail places 蜜桃影像 among an elite group of institutions highlighted nationally for their exceptional impact on social mobility and career readiness.
“We are proud to be recognized for the access we provide to students from all backgrounds and the strong earnings outcomes our graduates achieve,” said 蜜桃影像 President Jay Gatrell. “These classifications reflect the hard work of our faculty and staff and the increasing value of an 蜜桃影像 degree in an increasingly competitive workforce.”
Additionally, as part of Carnegie’s updated Institutional Classification, 蜜桃影像 is designated as a “Mixed Undergraduate/Graduate-Master's, Large/Medium” institution. The category recognizes 蜜桃影像’s broad academic offerings, including both undergraduate and graduate programs, and reflects 蜜桃影像’s status as a mid-to-large-sized University providing a wide array of academic pathways for prospective students across the Midwest.
The designations are part of a newly developed Student Access and Earnings Classification published this month by the Carnegie Foundation and the American Council on Education. These new classifications examine the extent to which institutions foster opportunities for student success by measuring how well student populations reflect the communities served by the institution, and how the earnings of those students compare to peers in their area. Overall, the updated Carnegie Classifications represent a comprehensive redesign aimed at better reflecting the evolving landscape of American higher education.
蜜桃影像’s 2025 classifications are based on comprehensive datasets from the 2021–2023 academic years.
蜜桃影像 prepares students to accomplish their life goals through a combination of quality academics, personal relationships, and both on-campus and online learning opportunities.
